What’s a geek?
According to Wikipedia, “The term GEEK has recently become less condescending, or even a badge of honor, within particular fields and subcultures; this is particularly evident in the technical disciplines, where the term is now more of a compliment denoting extraordinary skill.”
The faces of geeks have changed over the years and in the San Francisco Bay Area, it seems almost everyone is geek in some way. Geeks are smart, driven, knowledgeable, kind of shy, and sometimes a bit socially challenged. Many SF geeks have broken the social protocols of geekiness, and are very popular, fun, diverse, romantically successful, and dialed in. In fact you don’t even know many geeks are geeks until you start talking tech.
What’s so great about geeks?
Geeks rule. They are the best people to date. Really. They don’t cheat on you or try to date your friends and they are so happy to date you. Geeks can fix things. They are smart, well versed and know a lot of random things. And they make money. And if they aren’t already well rounded, with a little help they can be sexy and amazing.
